Love Cake Allergy Friendly Banana Bread

This would have to be the easiest gluten free, dairy free and vegan banana bread recipe you’ve ever made and it tastes and smells delicious too! Prep time is about 15 minutes and you only need one bowl to make the batter. It’s so easy the kids can bake it for you! Enjoy it fresh from the oven or toast it and smear it with (dairy-free) butter. Equipment needed:

  • 1x set of measuring cups
  • 1x set of measuring spoons
  • 1x mixing bowl
  • 1x measuring jug

Ingredients needed:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups Love Cake plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup 

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil or organic canola oil
  • 2 very ripe bananas

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 100 mls water
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup vegan choc chips


  1. Turn your oven on to 180 degrees fan bake
  2. Take your over-ripe bananas (tip: you can store ripe bananas in the freezer and thaw them before you’re ready to use) and place them in a bowl and mash with a fork
  3. Sift in your Love Cake plain flour
  4. Add the rest of your ingredients and stir well until combined
  5. Pour the batter into a loaf tin that’s lined with parchment paper so it hangs over two sides of the pan or greased with oil
  6. Place in the oven and bake at 180 degrees fan bake for about 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden brown, and a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean
  7. Remove from the loaf tin and place on a cooling rack and allow to cool fully before removing it from the tin.
